class rules / LAS VEGAS Ross racing pistons Limited 235

Limited 235 is a heads-up 1/8th mile class for all types of Rear Wheel Drive Vehicles from Classic 50’s Iron, 60’s Muscle Cars to Late Models Hot Rods & Trucks. This class is going to feature limitations in Cubic Inch Displacement, Power Adders and all cars will have to use a Small Rear Radial Tire (235 M/T Drag Radial Part # 3450 or 3752R Only)

 

Limited 235 will run on a 1/8th mile format with a "Qualified" (32-car) field with Alternates

 

BODY:

The car must retain its original appearance, materials and profiles. Aftermarket Fiberglass or Carbon Fiber Body Parts

limited to Hood, Deck-lid and Bumpers only. Rear Mini-Tubs or altering of factory wheel tubs are permitted however no

full-size wheel tubs will be allowed.

 

FIREWALL:

Must retain factory unaltered firewall, in original location. A cosmetic overlay is permitted.

 

FLOORBOARD:

Must retain the factory Floorboard from Firewall to beginning of Trunk/Hatch area... Trunk/Hatch/Spare Tire area can be

modified/flattened for battery placement, Fuel Cell etc.

 

GRILL / FRONT BUMPER:

Factory Grille and Front Bumper must be of original design with no alterations to allow additional Air-Inlets

 

HOOD:

No Forward-Facing Hood Scoops of any design or Air-inlets added for Blower/Turbo Cars

 

INTERIOR:

Factory appearing door panels, carpet and dashboard are required. Back seat may be deleted but must have carpet

covering the bare floor.

 

SEAT & SEAT LOCATION:

Two front full-size bucket seats, or one bench seat with upholstery required. Seats must remain in the factory location

without. Nitrous Bottle, Ignition box or any other device cannot be mounted within the passenger side seat.

 

WINDOWS:

Must be factory OEM Glass, no Lexan permitted.... 1 exception, rear window on a truck if the roll-cage goes into the bed area

 

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

FRAME & CHASSIS:

Stock frame rails must be retained in stock locations front and rear, notching of rear frame rails is allowed (No Full Back

Half Chassis Permitted) Sub frame connectors are permitted.

 

FRONT SUSPENSION:

All cars must retain stock-type front suspension. Aftermarket Tubular Control Arms, K-Member & Coil Over kits are legal

but must completely be a bolt-on conversion. Bolt-On Firewall forward are not legal unless noted below**. Replacement

Bolt- on Lightweight K-Members are legal, but must be a direct bolt on, no welding modifications permitted. Stock

wheelbase will be enforced on all vehicles.

 

**The only front suspension firewall forward bolt-on kits deemed legal by the PSCA are the CHRIS ALSTON No Fab (Mild

Steel/A-Arm version only) / Figment Design & Chassis Gen II Mild Steel Front Clip / *FATMAN bolt-on kits (for 62-67

Nova’s, 67-69 Camaro’s & early Mustangs) / The Rod & Custom Motorsport Mustang II kit for 64 1/2-66 Mustang, AJE

CN-6267, these kits must be installed as instructed and not modified in any manner. If you have a mild steel constructed

bolt-on kit not on this list and want to see if it could be added, email us at pscamobile@gmail.com and include,

manufacturer & part number

 

REAR SUSPENSION:

After-Market Control Arms, Bushings, Shocks, Leaf Springs, Torque Arm & Coil Springs are OK to upgrade as long as all

 

Factory/OEM Suspension Attaching Points are utilized in the way they came from the vehicle manufacturer with the

following exception: On Mini-Tub or vehicles with Leaf springs moved inward, Shocks must still follow the same angle and

placement as factory equipped (so if the bottom bracket is moved in 2′′ the top must do the same). Bolt On

Traction/Slapper Bars are allowed. No Ladder Bar Rear Type Suspension, No Wheelie Bars, No Off-set Coil Spring Kits,

No Coil-Over Shock/Spring Conversion permitted.

 

WHEEL BASE:

Must retain stock wheel base with a maximum variation right to left and front to back of one inch.

 

WHEELIE BARS:

Wheelie bars are strictly prohibited and not permitted.

 

DRIVE TRAIN

 

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS:

Any OEM automatic transmission permitted. Aftermarket torque converter, shift kit, valve body, shifter, and pan cooler use

are permitted. Trans brakes are permitted.

 

MANUAL TRANSMISSION:

After-market Standard Manual Transmissions are allowed except for Clutchless-Types, Clutch/Automatics or Planetary

Transmissions. All shifts must be made manually without the aid of electric, hydraulic or pneumatic devices.

 

ENGINE / ELECTRICAL

 

BRACKET RACING AIDS:

The use of bracket racing aids such as optical sensors, delay boxes, and throttle stops are prohibited

 

ENGINE:

515ci Limit for Power Adder Big Blocks – 525ci Limit for NA Big Blocks – 444ci Limit for Nitrous and NA Small Blocks –

410ci for Boosted Small Block (See Weight Breaks)

 

ENGINE BLOCK:

Aftermarket Cast Iron are allowed. (No After-Market Aluminum or Billet Blocks permitted)

 

ENGINE MOUNT LOCATION:

Engine must remain in factory stock OEM location. Engine may not touch the factory unaltered firewall. Motor plates are

permitted.

 

ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS / DATA RECORDERS:

On board diagnostic computers and recorders are permitted. Memory and playback tachometers are allowed.

 

STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

All cars are required to have Left & Right working headlights and tail lights

 

TRACTION CONTROL:

Strictly Prohibited... Vehicle cannot have any form of a Drive-Shaft Sensor... Driveline will be checked in Tech and

Random checks will be made during race weekends... If you are caught violating these rules, Car & Driver will be

suspended from future SCSN Events (Including Street Car Super Nationals St Louis & Las Vegas) for the period of 13-

Months. In addition, a Donation of $1,000.00 must be made to a SCSN Charity (St Judes Children Hospital) before Car &

Driver are Re-instated.

 

INDUCTION – EXHAUST

 

CARB NITROUS ASSISTED:

Any 4150 Based of Conventional design 4-Barrel is Max permitted (no 4500 Series/Dominators allowed on a power adder combo)

 

CARB NA COMBO:

Any 4150 Based of Conventional design 4-Barrel is Max permitted (4500 Dominator is allowed at a 100lb weight penalty)

 

EFI:

Any EFI system is permitted but throttle body is limited to 92mm or a 4150 Series 4-Barrel

 

FUEL:

Gasoline (Race Gas) and E-85 are the only legal fuels permitted. CYLINDER HEADS: (See section in weight add section)

 

INTAKE (POWER ADDERS):

4150 flange as-cast aluminum of conventional 1-piece design (Non Tunnel-Ram) Intake Manifold. Intake must have a

visible part number from the manufacture to prove its of original 4150 design. Porting is allowed but intake cannot

be cut-up, welded-on or altered in any way from its original design. If you’re not sure, please email us at

4150 or 4500 flange cast aluminum (Unless listed below) of conventional 1-piece design (Non Tunnel-Ram) Intake

MUFFLERS:

 

REAL Production Mufflers are required all 235 Limited cars, no Collector Mufflers permitted unless a Real Muffler is also in

place. Modification or removal of muffler internals is prohibited (no gutting). If you’re not sure what a “REAL MUFFLER” is

(at least 6′′ of the muffler “Main Body” is required) email us at mel@racepsca.com Don’t blame us if you show up to race

with a fabricated tube you may think is a muffler and you DO NOT pass tech inspection... Still not sure, email a photo of

POWER ADDERS

 

INTERCOOLER:

Air to Air legal with a 25lb weight Deduct. Air to Water legal but complete system must be mounted from the firewall

(engine side) forward... This includes everything including Intercooler, tank, lines, etc.

 

NITROUS:

  • Any 4150 Nitrous Plate is legal but cannot be used with any other power adder and with the following restrictions. *Only one (1) 10lb Nitrous Bottle is permitted
  • *Only one (1) -4 Nitrous Bottle line (Both ends) to Solenoid is permitted (Max .147-ID)
  • *Only one (1) .125 MAX Orifice Size Nitrous Solenoid is permitted
  • *Only one (1) Fuel Solenoid is permitted
  • *Only one (1) Small Purge Solenoid Permitted (Purge plume must be entirely outside of the engine bay and directed upward)
  • * Big Block Combo can use -6 line and any size single Nitrous Solenoid

ACCEPTED SINGLE TURBOCHARGER:

 

Compressor and turbine wheels, blades, hubs, cover, or housing

modifications are PROHIBITED and must be run as-produced

 

76mm with the following guidelines:

Accepted Single Turbochargers: 76mm Single Turbochargers are permitted on V6 and Small Block V8 engines in accordance with the following requirements:

 

1) Turbocharger must be of conventional impeller and housing design and type.

2) Turbocharger is limited to a maximum size of 2.99251 inches (76mm) inducer diameter at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the inlet housing.

3) Compressor cover inlet is permitted a maximum inlet diameter of 4.0 inches

4) Compressor Wheel to housing clearance must maintain a maximum 0.091 (2.3114mm) clearance beginning from a) the leading edge of the compressor wheel where it meets the inlet of the compressor housing, to b) the transition point where the trailing edge of the compressor wheel meets the volute.

5) All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet.

6) Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing prohibited.

7) Compressor wheel contour must be continuous features from the inducer to the exducer (no “stepped” wheels).

 

Accepted Twin “Non-Billet Wheel” Turbochargers: 55mm Twin Turbochargers are permitted on V6 and Small Block V8 up to a MAX of 377ci engines in accordance with the following requirements:

 

1) Turbocharger must be of conventional impeller and

housing design and type.

2) Turbocharger is limited to a maximum size of 2.165 inches (55mm) inducer diameter at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the inlet housing.

3) Compressor cover inlet is permitted a maximum inlet diameter of 2.500 inches (63.5mm)

4) Compressor Wheel to housing clearance must maintain a maximum 0.091 (2.3114mm) clearance beginning from a) the leading edge

of the compressor wheel where it meets the inlet of the compressor housing, to b) the transition point where the trailing

edge of the compressor wheel meets the volute.

5) All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet.

6) Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing prohibited.

Limited 235 REQUIRED CLASS DECALS: Decals will be available during Sign-Up at the SCSN Trailer

 

CLASS SPONSOR DECAL:

"Ross Racing Pistons" decal must be installed on base of windshield on the passenger side.

(Bottom left-hand side when looking at front of vehicle windshield)

 

SERIES PRESENTED BY SPONSOR DECAL:

"FuelTech" decal must be installed on base of windshield on the driver’s side. (Bottom right-hand side when looking at front of

vehicle windshield) Decals will be available during registration at the SCSN Event Trailer

 

SCSN TITLE SPONSOR DECAL:

"Comp Cams" Decal must be placed on the upper windshield in the center

 

SCSN SERIES DECALS:

SCSN Decals must be placed on both left & right sides of race car on the 1/4 Window, 1/4 Panel or Side of Rear Wing in a highly

visible location

 

CONTINGENCY AND CONTINGENCY SPONSOR DECALS:

To receive Contingency Monies from any of the listed Contingency Sponsors, you must have the correct product listed and

matching Contingency Decal for that product on your car for the entire SCSN Racing Event... Racers will be checked for

Products & Decals while be teched in and winners & runners-up again will be checked in the Winner's Circle after the

conclusion of each event. Winners & Runner-ups failing to show up for this mandatory Inspection will forfeit all Contingency

Money that is owed!!!! All Contingency Decals may appear anywhere on the vehicle in a clear and organized fashion.

Contingency decals may not be overlapped or modified. Most decals are available at the SCSN Event Trailer, but in the event

the SCSN does not have the decals in stock, it is the racer's responsibility to obtain the proper decals to be eligible for the

Contingency payout.

 

RACE DAY POLICY'S

 

FIELD SIZE & LADDER:

235 will qualify for a 32-car field (with Alternates) and will be put on a 32-car Pro Ladder. If less than 32 cars enter, we will

follow the NHRA "Official Ladder" for the field size....

 

TOW BACK & TOW VEHICLES:

All 235 entries can tow to staging lanes and to the track scales with a golf cart or other similar small tow vehicle. All carts will

be subject to search by a SCSN Official at any time.

 

ALTERNATING LANES DURING QUALIFYING:

Each 235 driver must alternate lanes during qualifying. If you choose to ignore this rule, your second consecutive pass in the

same lane on the same day will be disqualified.

 

AUTO-START:

The Auto-Start System will be turned on with a 7-sec timeout

 

BYE-RUNS:

All vehicles must take the Tree & Scale for opportunity at Lane-Choice for next round

Once Your Vehicle Passes Tech Inspection, There Are No Refunds
